Abstract

Natural regeneration represents the renewal activity of trees in a forest, and forest productivity estimates are an important prerequisite for establishing management actions. This work aimed to quantify the natural regeneration biomass in a Cerradão, in Niquelândia, GO, and to generate an equation to relate the number of regenerating individuals to their biomass. Regenerative individuals were those with total height ≥ 1.5 m and DBH <5 cm. Twenty experimental units of 1 m x 1 m were studied, where 56 individuals were found, which represented 917,85 kg.ha-¹ of biomass. The adjusted linear regression equation was not considered efficient for biomass estimates from the number of regenerating individuals found in 1 m² plots (R² = 0.72 and standard error of 86%).
